I. Product Overview
The PIPE-WRAP is a simple tool for marking straight lines around pipe, or for use as a ruler. The product is a flexible gasket material which has good resistance to heat and cold. It is perfectly designed with a straight edge so that precise markings can be made around a pipe for cutting to ensure a squared edge can be achieved.
Note: All PIPE-WRAPS are black in colour and can be used up to 550°F. All PIPE-WRAPS are asbestos free.
II. Selection Guide & Usage Instructions
How to Select the Right Size
In order to use the product for this purpose, firstly determine the required length of the pipe to be squared. Then measure the diameter of the pipe in order to select the proper PIPE-WRAP length. The length of the product will allow for wrapping the pipe twice. The general advice is to use a PIPE-WRAP which is seven times the pipe diameter. Use the measurement table below to understand the appropriate PIPE-WRAP width.
Operating Instructions
- Place the edge of the PIPE-WRAP at the point in which the line will be made.
- Proceed to wrap the tool around the pipe twice whilst ensuring that the product is straight. This is vital to ensure that you get a straight cut.
- With the PIPE-WRAP now in place, draw a line around the product with chalk whilst taking close care to ensure that the line is straight along the edge.
III. Specifications & Models
The product is available in four different stock sizes as listed in the table below. Small, Medium, Large and Extra-Large stock sizes are printed with a scale in inches, pitch chart and tangent chart, as well as a metric scale and pitch chart. Additional instructions for layouts of elbow and other fittings are also printed on the product itself.
