Silicone Rubber Coated Fiberglass Fabric
- High Flexibility & Anti-Slip: Provides a soft, conforming surface that resists mechanical wear.
- Weather & Ozone Resistant: Engineered for up to 10 years of robust outdoor service life.
- Superior Dielectric Strength: Protects against breakdown voltages of 20-50KV/mm.
- Ideal for Heavy Industry: The go-to material for expansion joints, fire curtains, and pipeline insulation.
Overview
The Silicone Rubber Coated Fiberglass Fabric shares many high-performance traits with PTFE-coated fabrics, including excellent high-temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and insulation. However, unlike the rigid and smooth surface of PTFE, silicone-coated fabric provides a flexible, non-slip, and highly durable surface. It can be coated on one or both sides and is available in multiple colors to suit different industrial identification requirements.

Key Features
- Performs effectively in a temperature range from -70°C to 230°C with excellent thermal retention.
- Outstanding resistance to ozone, oxygen, light, and climate aging, offering up to 10 years of outdoor service life.
- High dielectric insulation performance, with a breakdown voltage of 20-50KV/mm.
- Waterproof, oil-resistant, and chemically inert, making it easy to scrub and maintain.
- High structural strength while remaining soft and flexible for easy cutting and processing.
Product Applications
- Electrical Insulation: Serves as premium insulation cloth and protective sleeving for high-voltage applications.
- Non-metallic Compensators: Used as flexible connecting elements for pipelines to absorb thermal expansion and contraction in petrochemical and cement plants.
- Anti-corrosion Sector: Ideal as an internal and external protective wrapping layer for pipelines and storage tanks.
- Safety Equipment: Manufactured into fire-retardant curtains, welding blankets, and isolation pads.
- Construction and Packaging: Utilized for architectural sealing, food packaging, and rubber industry applications.
Using Procedure
1. Fabrication & Sewing
When fabricating expansion joints or fire curtains, use high-temperature resistant sewing threads (such as Kevlar or PTFE-coated fiberglass thread) to ensure the seams match the thermal rating of the fabric.
2. Sealing & Joining
For airtight or watertight applications, seal the stitched seams with a compatible RTV silicone sealant to prevent fluid or gas leakage through the needle holes.
Matters Needing Attention
- Chemical Compatibility: While highly resistant to environmental factors, avoid prolonged exposure to concentrated sulfuric acid, strong alkalis, and certain hydrocarbon solvents which can swell or degrade the silicone rubber layer.
- Mechanical Abrasion: The silicone coating offers high friction. Do not drag heavy equipment across the surface, as localized high-pressure abrasion can strip the silicone layer from the fiberglass base.
- Storage Safety: Keep the material away from sharp objects. Store in a cool, dry place and ensure the rolls are tightly wrapped to prevent dust accumulation on the slightly tacky silicone surface.
